A day in the life of a KRF Kid

On Saturday 7th July KRF held a one off race day at Chinnbrook Meadows, Solihull. We spent the day with one of our runners Jefferson to find out just what it's like to be a KRF kid.

Jefferson woke up nice and early on Saturday morning and travelled to Chinnbrook Meadows . Today was particularly exciting for him as he was running a longer distance than usual with older children. Jefferson felt very good about this.

Of course no race can begin without a warm up so Jefferson got into the swing of things with some star jumps.

Then it was time for Jefferson to start the race!

Raring to go
And he's off!

After completing the race Jefferson tucked into a well deserved healthy snack

Smiles all round
Jefferson had a great day, his favourite part was "running in front of mama, as I wanted to be the second one".

Have you got a child that runs in our races? Why not let us know how their race days were too?

Kids Run Free at the Olympic Torch Relay

The Olympics are well and truly on the way and all of us here at Kids Run Free can't wait, so you can imagine just how excited we were about the Olympic Torch Parade. In fact we were all so excited that we couldn't help but hold a little taster session at St Nicholas Park in Warwick.

Catherine arrived bright and early on Sunday to set up the course followed by Pete, Gail, Martine and Brian. Of course no KRF event would be complete without the adorable Joey the Kangaroo who was on top form throughout the day cheering on all the runners (and if you were lucky he even let your pull his tail...)

Martine, Joey and Gail having fun

We were so pleased that so many families came along to have a go! Olly from Touch FM did a fantastic job of announcing our runs throughout the day so we were never short of enthusiastic runners.

All the children that took part received an Olympic Torch relay certificate. We hope we inspired them all to Start Young and Stay Fit.

After our races, KRF went to see the all important Torch relay which only got us even more excited for the Olympics.
