Luckily for us the "Three Js" from Brantano Coventry are going to be flying the flag for KRF at the Raceways Halloween Horror Run on 27th October. Joseph Gittings, John Differ and Jason Walker from the Coventry branch of Brantano are going to be braving the elements (and some scary surprises too) for a 4 mile run. With only 4 days to go any donations would be much appreciated, you can donate online at their Virgin Money Giving page.

Not only are the Three J's running on our behalf, they are also offering all Kids Run Free members a 10% discount every time they visit any Brantano store nationwide. So why not get yourself, or your little ones, a new pair of shoes? Just show your KRF wristband when making a purchase at the store and you'll be given 10% off.

The Stratford Launch and Bear Grylls!

Hi Everyone

So after the excitement of the Kids Run Free Annual Event last weekend we were back to our normal four events. With one rather large exception - we launched our first Kids Run Free event in Stratford! After the success of KRF in Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry and Leamington Spa we finally managed to branch out to Stratford setting up at Shottery Fields and hit the front page of the Stratford Observer. A massive thank you to Eleanor from The Converstation who helped to ensure that we had enough volunteers at the event and helped to organise the equipment. Also a BIG THANKYOU to the people of Stratford who showed up and had fun!

Great turn out at Leamington KRF
At Leamington's KRF event the Stanley family received their Flip2bFit prize for winning the Treasure Hunt at the previous weeks Kids Run Free Annual Festival.

On Saturday Gail and Martine showcased Kids Run Free at Scouts Bear Day at the National Agricultural Centre in Stoneleigh. Over 4000 beavers, cubs and scouts were present and took part in many activities during the day. The Kids Run Free section was placed outside in the 'Fitness Zone' and was enjoyed by many throughout the day!

Finally the day was rounded off wonderfully with a visit by Chief Scout Bear Grylls who arrived in style by helicopter and was greeted by throngs of excited beavers, cubs and Scouts from around the county.

Bear Grylls - not so subtle entrance

Thank you to all the kids who gave Kids Run Free at Scout Bear Day a chance this year, we really enjoyed being there and the atmosphere on the day was just fantastic.

Hope to see you all at Novembers Kids Run Free Events in Leamington, Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull and Stratford.

Kids Run Free Annual Festival - The Hard Work Pays Off

Hi Everyone,

So all the hard work has finally paid off and last weekend we celebrated the first annual Kids Run Free festival. With over 350 attendees, 10 races, bouncy castles, pancakes and of course David Moorcroft it was definitely a day to remember.

Martine and David Moorcraft welcome the crowds

The weather decided to treat us to a rare sunny day, without a drop of rain for the entire afternoon. The glowing sunshine set the mood for the day, with Nigel helping to blare out the best summer anthems - the competition was set.

Race directors - Joe, Larissa, Bryan and Steve were tasked with setting off the races with the considerable help of The Challengers - a group of over 40 sixteen year olds whose contribution to the success of the day was undeniable. Volunteers from Brantano in Coventry, Park Street Chiropractors, Raceways, Warwickshire College and 365 Academy were also present to help the day run smoothly.

As well as the races the festival vibe was continued by the presence of several stalls and a rather large and extremely popular bouncy castle. The Big Sensory Plus stall provided by Paul Thurston showcased sensory equipment for children with learning difficulties. Whilst the Double Dutch Pancake Bar  provided everyone with a well deserved treat!

Claire Maguire's Treasure Trails provided a free treasure hunt for all the kids with Flip2bfit supplying prizes to the winning kids. Learning Early also provided us with an free bike assault course, courtesy of Karen Wood. Finally Junior Junction Hairdressers were present to give kids the perfect 'do' before their photocall with our professional photographer for the day Maria Rankin.

Several other crucial people were involved in the production of the festival: Eleanor was key in the media promotion, The Usual Studio produced and designed the invitations, Rugby's Wild and Free remained our fresh fruit donor, Asda Leamington's presence encouraged advertisement and Leamington Roundtable remains the official sponsor of Kids Run Free Events in Leamington Spa.

A massive thank you to everyone who helped with the festivals success. We hope that you all enjoyed it and will show the same enthusiasm for next years event.

Remember that it is our Stratford Launch on Saturday October 6th so if you are in the area then please register and come along.

Many Thanks

The Kids Run Free Team
