10 fun things you can do with your kids this summer

It's that time of year again, when you’re wondering how to keep your children entertained all summer long!

A lot can come from very little - the great outdoors:
Surprise your kids by taking them outside during a gentle summer rain shower; dance around in swimsuits, catch raindrops in your mouths - and jump in all the puddles. (from Parents.com)

Chalk it up: Everyone loves sidewalk chalk - the glow-in-the-dark kind, so you and your child can still glimpse your artwork from the window at bedtime. (from Parents.com)

Go for a run: Every child loves to run. Why not join us at Kids Run Free? We host monthly events across the country! Check it out.

Hammock Fun: They don’t cost much - and your little people will enjoy a whole summer of fun. My guess is that bigger people will enjoy it too! (Parents.com)

Tree climbing: Discover your inner child by climbing trees with your children.

Camping: Of course - the classic, great outdoors activity.

– and what about all the yummy food that you can throw on the fire! Lots of delicious recipes here.

Pond dipping: Who knows what you can find in a pond? In our beautiful country we are surrounded by lots of wonderful nature - even if you don't have a pond, or even a garden. Go for a walk with you children, and see what you can discover – from large airborne insects like dragonflies, down to small slimy flatworms – it’s all a source of fascination for children. What about running a Marathon with your kids?

You can do that with your children, just by going to your local park, a little at a time - we recommend not to run over 2km a day. It is in a child’s nature to run, so let them discover their true ability. We at Kids Run Free hold Kids Marathon, which is a project run at schools nationwide. Our aim is to give school children the chance to complete a marathon by the end of their school year. To find out more, please check out our website
